Eric M. Greenfeld is a Partner at Rosenfeld in the Entertainment Transactions Group.  Eric furnishes strategic business affairs and legal advisory services to fully-financed film production companies, film funds, foreign sales companies, the local production and film financing arms of overseas distributors and movie companies, individual movie financiers, and producers.  Eric also develops sophisticated forecasting models to analyze studio movies, independent films, and film slate cash flow and profitability. 

Eric has spent more than twenty years in the studio and independent worlds as a lawyer, executive and writer.  He was co-founding executive and Chief Operating Officer of Robert Redford’s Sundance Productions, a film and Internet production, financing and distribution venture started in 2000.  Prior to launching Sundance Productions, Eric was for many years MGM’s Senior Vice President of Business Affairs.  Prior to joining MGM, Eric was Vice President of Business Affairs at New Line Cinema and an entertainment lawyer in private practice.  Before and while attending law school, he was a newspaper reporter, segment writer for the local television program “PM Magazine,” as well as a ghostwriter and screenwriter.  His work has been optioned by two major Hollywood studios.

Eric lectures frequently on the film industry at colleges and professional seminars.  He is an avid hiker and former Sierra Club wilderness instructor and an active club race car driver.  Eric resides in Santa Monica with his wife, L.S. Kim, a professor in the Department of Film and Digital Media at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
